The Tales of Brixton was a part participatory, part observational project which ran at Big Window Collective in Brixton Village Market, between January 2010 and April 2010. I collected stories and rants from the local community, throughout the residency I regularly sat on a beaten up old sofa outside the Big Window Collective, encouraging people to sit down and tell me their tale of Brixton. I also actively engaged in bartering with language, telling participants a story in return for their tale. The result is this archive, a snapshot into the exchange of language.
